TKK Community Health invites community members to join our Diabetes Health Session Series, offered in response to community interest and requests for more diabetes education and support.
Whether you are living with diabetes, pre-diabetic, or supporting a loved one, these sessions will provide practical information and tools to help you better understand diabetes and support your overall health and wellness.
Topics throughout the series include how diabetes affects the body, nutrition, medications, physical activity, and self-management strategies. Sessions will be facilitated by healthcare professionals from Northern Health, FNHA, and CSFS providing opportunities to learn, ask questions, and connect with available health supports.

Monday June 8 – How Diabetes Affects the Body
Insulin, blood sugar, and insulin resistance
Monday June 15 – Nutrition & Diabetes
Carbohydrates, nutrition labels, meal planning, and alcohol
Monday June 29 – Medications & Diabetes
Insulin, medications, interactions, alcohol, and sick day management
Monday July 6 – Physical Activity & Diabetes
How exercise affects blood glucose levels
Monday July 13 – Self-Management & Prevention
High/low blood sugar, foot & eye care, appointments, and healthcare support
