Chainsaw Safety Training, S100: Basic Fire Suppression Safety, and S185: Basic Fire Entrapment Avoidance & Safety, taking place in Burns Lake, July 20–24, 2026.
This training is part of the North Coast Transmission Line Phase 2, Member Training & Employment Opportunities, helping members prepare for upcoming project-related employment opportunities.
S100 Basic Fire Suppression & Safety: Provides foundational training required for many wildland firefighters and forestry related positions in B.C.. Covering areas such as practical chainsaw handling and maintenance, fire behavior, suppression methods, hand tools, water delivery systems, and fire line organization.
S185 Basic Fire Entrapment Avoidance & Safety: A specialized course to build skills in recognizing dangerous fire behaviour, evaluating fire entrapment risks, establishing safe zones, using emergency escape routes, and safe handling and operations of chainsaws.
To help remove barriers to participation, financial support is available for childcare, travel, PPE/clothing, and other eligible needs. If there's something else preventing you from attending, reach out, we're committed to working together to find a solution.
