Health & Wellness

The TKK Community Health Program works alongside FNHA and Carrier Sekani Family Services to support the health and well-being of community members through accessible health services, resources, and wellness opportunities. The program helps members navigate health benefits, access patient travel supports, connect with available services, and stay informed about important health information and community resources.

By helping reduce barriers to accessing medical care and support, the program aims to make health services more approachable and accessible for all community members. Through wellness sessions, resource sharing, education, and community partnerships, the TKK Community Health Program continues to promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness while strengthening overall community health and connection.

The TKK Wellness Program is dedicated to supporting the overall well-being of community members through compassionate, culturally grounded, and holistic care. The program offers a range of supports and services designed to meet individuals where they are and help them on their wellness journey.

Programming and supports include the development of specialized wellness plans, one-on-one health and wellness support, assistance with referrals to private treatment facilities, and aftercare services to help individuals maintain ongoing wellness and stability.

In addition to individualized supports, the Wellness Program also creates opportunities for community connection and healing through wellness events, healing circles, gatherings, and the TKK Community Garden. Together, these initiatives promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness while strengthening community relationships and connection to the land.

Cultural Programs & Services

The TKK Housing Department is committed to providing safe, accessible, and low-barrier housing opportunities for all TKK members. The department works to deliver sustainable housing services that support the well-being, stability, and long-term needs of the community.

Through housing support, maintenance, planning, and ongoing development, the program aims to improve living conditions and create housing opportunities that are inclusive, reliable, and community-focused.

The TKK Land-Based Program creates opportunities for community members to reconnect with the land, culture, and traditional ways of life through seasonal outings, cultural teachings, harvesting activities, and hands-on learning experiences. Natural Resources

The TKK Natural Resources Program works to steward and protect the traditional territory of Ts’il Kaz Koh through responsible resource management, environmental monitoring, and community engagement. The program oversees the TKK referral system, reviews land and resource activities within the territory, and helps ensure that community values, cultural knowledge, and environmental stewardship remain a priority in decision-making processes.

Through ongoing collaboration, monitoring, and land based knowledge, the program supports the long-term health and sustainability of TKK lands, waters, and natural resources for current and future generations.

The TKK Language Program is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the Dakelh and Wet’suwet’en languages through accessible learning opportunities for all community members. Through videos, cultural activities, gatherings, and ongoing language resources, the program supports learners of all ages in strengthening their connection to language, culture, and identity while helping ensure these languages continue to grow for future generations.
